About ASKi
ASK Innovation is a leading-edge engineering and product-design company. It was founded in 2004 by ex-employees of Siemens, who saw an opportunity to channel their expertise and experience into new product areas not currently being well-served by other suppliers.
The main focus of the company is in railway signalling for Heritage and Independent railways. Chief engineer Stuart Ward has been involved first-hand with railway signalling since 1989. He was a key member of the team that restored the Swanage Railway and has been actively involved in obtaining and installing signalling equipment for many years.
Stuart says, “When I tried to buy products for our new signalling system, I found it very difficult. Parts were often obsolete, expensive or available only in very large quantities. Suppliers did not seem very interested in helping what they called our ‘miscellaneous’ sector and certainly did not seem to appreciate our limited resources. I figured that I couldn’t be the only one experiencing such difficulties and set up ASK Innovation specifically to meet the needs of my colleagues in Heritage and Independent railways across the country”.
Since then ASK Innovation has grown from strength to strength, designing and supplying the Heritage and Independent railway sector with reliable, approved signalling equipment that is both affordable and available in small quantities. We aim to offer many products from stock including Relays, Earth Leakage Detectors, Track Circuits, Signal Lamps, Signal Spectacle Filters, Power Supplies and Concrete Benches.
